Founded before the First World War, Tyler Bros has been incorporated as a limited company since 1962. The year 2012 sees the company reach a significant milestone of 50 years of successful operations.
Tyler Bros has been part of a changing technology that has transformed the engineering world, and our ability to adapt to that change is a key factor in our continued success. Many of our skilled and loyal staff have been with Tyler Bros for most of their working lives and are a major factor in our success story, enabling Tyler Bros to continue to grow and stamp our mark on the engineering industry.
The company was founded in the early 1920s and incorporated as a limited company in 1962. Our roots go back to 1914 when colliery engineer Harry Tyler set up business in a small garage on Stoneyford Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, to serve Russian Oil Products. By 1939 the garage was making pneumatic air tools for an aircraft industry that was rapidly increasing its output to meet the demands of war. This type of work continued until the mid-1950s by which time the sons of the founder, Harold and Frank Tyler, were running the business.
Over the decades, Tyler Bros has served many customers in many industries across the globe, including aerospace, oil production, rail and transport, textile and automotive. Our continued success can be owed to our dedication and flexibility that has allowed us to constantly identify and adapt to emerging demand.
Tyler Bros current Managing Director, Andrew Tyler, joined the company in 1973 and is the Grandson of original founder Harry Tyler. Andrew has overseen a considerable investment programme over the last 30 years, including a 5 bay extension in 2005 that has substantially increased our capacity

With this increase in staffing levels, training becomes a major influence in our future plans. Our current training initiatives include 2 apprentices studying at West Notts College Mansfield and an employee pursuing a Master’s Degree in Engineering Business Management at the
As we celebrate 50 years of successful engineering, Tyler Bros look to the future with considerable confidence knowing that whatever economic changes may take place, we have the experience and sheer adaptability to meet the challenge.
